Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Chacon

Antonio "Tony” Chacon, 79, passed away on November 6, 2021. He was born in Greeley, CO May 11, 1942, to Paul and Carmen (Murillo) Chacon. Tony grew up in Greely area and graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest, CO. He worked as an employment officer for the State of Colorado. Tony married the love of his life Blanco Garcia on June 30th, 1972. Tony was an avid sports fan. As a young man, he was an All-State catcher at Valley High School. He enjoyed watching his son play baseball and attending his nieces and nephews sporting events. Tony was also an avid fan of UNC baseball and basketball in addition to the Colorado Rockies. He took pleasure in spending time with his family and treasured the BBQ’s spent together. He is survived by his wife Blanca; son Shawn Chacon; brothers John Chacon, Ruben (Virginia) Chacon and Rudy (Rosie) Chacon; sisters Dora Alvidrez, Marylou Garcia, and Helen Olivas; bother-in-law Francisco Regalado; grandchildren Andre, Tayton and Samara grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters Rebecca Regalado, Mabel Guadalupe Tapia, and brother Tony "Herbie” Villegas. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 6:00pm Monday, November 15 followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00pm at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Tuesday, November 16 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville, CO.
