Douglas Warren Wittnam

Douglas Warren Wittnam (55) passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 in his home near his family. He was born in Creve Coeur, Missouri on March 26, 1965 to Donald and Karen Wittnam. They moved often before settling in Greeley when Doug was 9 years old. Doug attended Dayspring High School and DeVry Trade School in Arizona. Doug was the State Champion 6-man Football Team Defensive MVP when they won state in HS. After graduating from DeVry, Doug moved to California, where he worked for Hughes Aircraft and Lockheed. He continued to work as a quality control electrical engineer for New Bedford Panoramic and DPI Labs. . Doug had a tremendous heart for people, and helped everyone and anyone in need. He loved serving people through hands-on projects, was sacrificially generous, and was a creative and tenacious mechanical “problem solver”. He traveled with family to Hawaii, England, the Caribbean, the Baltics, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. And, also, traveled to the Philippines with Teen Missions at fourteen. He was a super-fun dad, adventurous to the point of risk-taking.
Doug is preceded in death by his dad, Donald W. Wittnam, and nephew, Seth Yetter. He is survived by his wife, Teri Wittnam of Greeley, his sons; Tyler and Hunter Wittnam of Greeley, and stepsons, JJ Ouellette and Anthony Waggoner of California. His surviving siblings are Dana (Tom) Dix of Greeley and Dan (Mimi) Wittnam of Arlington, VA.
There will be a social-distancing viewing at Adamson’s Life Celebration Home on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 3-5 for friends and family. A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
