Maria Burrola, 78, of Platteville, passed away at NCMC on Sunday, January 12, 2020. She was born February 11, 1941 in Devine, TX to Aniceto and Clara (Perez) Curiel.
As a young girl, her family worked as migrant laborers, coming to Colorado each season to work the fields. It was in Eaton that she met a young man, Pablo Burrola, Jr., and in 1960 they were married at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She remained an active member at the church, teaching Catechism and helping where needed.
She helped Pablo with farming activities, keeping their home and raising the family. She enjoyed being in the outdoors, gardening, weeding, sewing, music and dancing, but most enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include her husband, Pablo Jr., children; Rosa Morado, Pablo (April) Burrola III, and Rebecca Morales, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Margarita Gomez, son-in-law, Theodore Arguello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Francisca Arguello and her brother Concepcion Curiel.
Visitation 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 19 with Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 5 p.m. at Adamson. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, January 20 at Our Lady of Peace. Interment Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville with a luncheon to follow at Valley High School, 1001 Birch Street, Gilcrest.
