Robert Fredrick Taylor, 91, of Eaton, passed away at NCMC in Greeley on January 6, 2020. Born June 11, 1928 in Boone, Iowa to Albert L. and Bessie L. (Engstrom) Larson, he grew up and graduated from Boone High School. He moved to California and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and received the rank of Tech Sargent on December 1, 1953 before an honorable discharge on August 20, 1954.
He graduated from UC Davis in 1958 with a degree in Agricultural Economics and then spent a number of years in the agriculture business world before retiring at the age of 62. He later worked various jobs in food businesses, officially retiring at the age of 85.
He married Joy Shuford in 1953 and had two daughters, Robin and Janet. He married Kathy Wiley in July 1969, celebrating 50 years in 2019.
Bob was a former member of the Lions Club and Rotary while living in California. They most recently enjoyed their time with the grandkids and great-grandkids, celebrating donut Fridays.
Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Kathy, daughters; Robin (Mark) Spaur and Janet (Andy) Mills, four grandchildren; Zach (Melinda) Spaur, Erica (Luke) Brough, Sarah (David) Mikucki and Dillon Gocke as well as four great-grandchildren; Julia, Claire, Levi and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his sister and two brothers.
Robert’s Life Celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Adamson with a reception to follow. Inurnment 1:00 p.m. January 17 at the Eaton Cemetery.
