Patrice Louise Shankle passed away December 1, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born June 11, 1954 in Longmont, Colorado to Clyde and Elsie (Beauprez) Loban.
Patrice grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School through 8th grade. Her family moved north of Severance in 1968 and she attended Windsor High School.
On June 14, 1973 she married Jim Shankle. They moved to Greeley to work and raise their family. Patrice enjoyed 34 years of marriage before her husband’s untimely death on May 26, 2007. She still missed him 12 ½ years after his passing.
Patrice was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was hardworking, loyal and kind. She enjoyed caring for her home, yard and family. Patrice was an amazing cook and loved to bake.
She worked as a CNA for many years at Windsor Health Care. She also helped her parents and brother on the family dairy. Patrice was finally able to achieve a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from UNC’s nursing program in May 1996. She worked at Centennial Health Care for three years. Patrice truly enjoyed caring for others and tried to make a difference in every person’s life.
She will be missed by her family including her three children; Jennifer, Timothy and Ryan (Michaela) all of Greeley, four beautiful granddaughters; Serbeara (Matt) Bailey, Kaitlyn and Allyson, 1 great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; brother, Bill Loban of Eaton; sisters, Connie Krause of Eaton and Risa Holland of Evans as well as numerous nieces, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her parents as well as a brother, Larry.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
