Bertha Esther Blehm, 94 passed away peacefully September 30, 2019 at Life Care Center of Greeley. Bertha was born October 17, 1924 to John and Mary Schmidt on farm near Plateville, Colorado.
On November 14, 1944, Bertha married Harry Blehm at St. John’s Lutheran Church. To this union two daughters were born. The family lived many years on their farm near Gill, moving to Kersey where Bertha lived 41 years until moving to Greeley.
Harry passed away September 23, 2010. They celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Bertha’s fondest moments were spent with her children, grandchildren, and many family gatherings. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, especially caring for her many flowerbeds.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Randy)Buhler of Sterling, Eileen Johnson of Greeley; grandchildren, Alycia Gilliland of Boulder, Marleen (Grant) Whipple of Greeley, Lynette (J.R.) Bohler of Sterling, Ranell Buhler (Brian Tramp) of Sterling and Emilie Johnson (Paul Daugherty) of Longmont ; great-grandsons, Zachary Buhler and Andrew Rhodes of Sterling and Sklyer Fritz of Greeley; great granddaughters, Kiersten Bohler of Sterling and Lindsey Fritz of Greeley; siblings, Elsie Pfief of Windsor and John (Louise) Schmidt of La Salle.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Kathryn Bruntz.
In remembrance of Bertha, plant some flowers and enjoy their beauty in God’s love.
A memorial graveside will be held at 2 pm, Friday, October 11, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, Colorado.
