I love you so much Athan for the longest we had our on and offs but always came back together like nothing ever happened.
You were always there for me and always made sure I was okay we had the deepest convos most times and you always put a smile on my face.
You truly made me happy and I hope you know that you'll always have a piece of my heart.
Just a week or 2 ago you were doing my makeup and I hated that you made a meme out of my face but made me laugh and feel better.
I love you dearly I will miss you so much and my prayers to your momma and jason I love you all.

We went to a Robert DeLong concert once — he didn’t know much of DeLong’s music, but was really excited to come anyway. We danced the entire night and had a great time — the opening artist came down to talk to the audience after her set and said we were the cutest couple she had ever seen, and we just smiled and thanked her, even though we weren’t actually dating officially. When we were walking back to his car, he saw a woman across the parking lot who looked like she was having trouble with some guy, and without hesitation, he called out to ask if she was okay and started walking towards her to protect her. She said yes and ended up driving off, but he was ready to make sure she was okay, regardless of what the man might do to stop him.

I went out with a Athan for a little while. He had a pure heart and cared so much for others, and he always knew how to make people laugh. I went to the carnival with him once; we rode all of the craziest rides and he freaked out when we went on the tall ones, and we both almost threw up twice but laughed about it for so long. We played the rigged booth games too, and I wanted the stuffed dragon — he didn’t stop playing until we won it, and he ended up winning it for me. We got our faces painted at the end of the night, him choosing probably the coolest design EVER. The artist even showed it off to all the people around her booth, and applauded him for his imagination. He was remarkable.

Athan's smile and tall stature are what you noticed first about him. His quiet demeanor, kind soul and sweet spirit. My dog Makenzie just adored him and the feeling was mutual lol! She loved to get his attention so he'd pick her up and she would sit on his lap for hours and fall asleep next to him :-)

I remember Athan teaching his mom and me how to twerk one evening. OMG we were all laughing SO hard! Athan had a quick wit just like his mom. He was always such a joy to be around and had such a calming presence in a room. He was forever smiling.

My heart is so broken for Jessica, Athan's loving and adoring mom. The bond that they shared was immeasurable. I have never seen a mother and son so close before; their relationship was a joy to witness. I am so sorry that Athan's time on this earth was cut so short and that others will miss out on knowing this incredible young man!! I will never forget his smile, his sense of humor, his loving treatment of my dogs, and his sweet gentle spirit.
