Kelley S. Mason was born June 9, 1941 in Denver, Colorado and passed away on September 1st, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado. He was the son of Ralph and Francis Lucille (Gifford) Mason. Kelley lived in several places throughout Colorado growing up and he graduated high school in Sidney, Nebraska class of 1959. After High School, Kelley joined the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and served as a CPL in the Third Marine Div. Airwing, Aircraft Fleet until 1965 and then he transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve until 1968.
During his life, Kelley enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was an avid Denver Broncos & Colorado Rockies fan and loved old cars. Kelley was a master gardener and enjoyed spending time walking his dogs during his retirement. For many years, he was often mistaken for Santa Claus and thoroughly enjoyed being “Santa” and playing that role at area functions and events throughout Morgan County.
Following in his parents’ footsteps, he was a dedicated teacher for many decades. He taught at several community colleges including Northwest Kansas Community College in Goodland, KS and Morgan Community College in Fort Morgan, CO. He taught electronics, computers, and helped countless people receive their GED’s. He was very beloved and looked up to by many of his students over the years. Kelley loved sharing his knowledge with others and teaching electronics and robotics to anyone who wanted to learn.
He enjoyed serving others and the community. Kelley served for many years as a volunteer during numerous elections in Morgan County. He always tried to help anyone he could and donated to many charities over the years.
Kelley was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sally Fox, of Sarasota Fl., and is survived by children Stephanie Minne of Brighton, CO; Shirley Dennis (Duane) of Bainbridge Island, WA; Sherri Boatright (Jon) of Taylorsville, KY; and Michael Mason (Shayla) of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by former wife Judy Wilmoth Mason of Ft. Morgan, CO, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.
