Edwin D. “Peck” Lesh, 92, of Ault, passed away July 28, 2019 in Greeley. He was born July 9, 1927 in rural Pierce to Edwin Daniel and Helen Esther (McCormick) Lesh.
He graduated from Pierce high school in 1944 and at the age of 17 he enlisted into the United States Navy, serving during World War II.
After returning from naval service, he enrolled at CU Boulder and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. While at the University of Colorado, he met his future wife, Billie Barbara Burnham; they were married on June 11, 1955 at the Park Congregational Church in Greeley.
Edwin and his brother Lynn worked for and later purchased their father’s business, Lesh Drilling. At the age of 88, he sold his business and retired in October 2014.
Edwin served his community and county on numerous boards including: Past Master of the Eaton Masonic Lodge #109, President of the North Colorado Medical Center Foundation Board, member of the Weld County Home Rule Charter Commission, President of the State Board of Water Well Examiners and Pump Installation Contractors, and member of the Weld County Airport Authority Board.
Survivors include his wife Billie B. Lesh of Ault; son, The Rev. Dr. Ryan Lesh of Charlottesville, VA and daughter, Pamela Guttersen of Ault; grandson, Andrew Guttersen of Ault and granddaughter, Paige Guttersen of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Patricia Lesh of Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters; Helen Jane Moore, Maxine Barense, and June Gwaltney along with his brother, Lynn L. Lesh.
Life Celebration services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Eaton Community (Congregational) Church with a reception to follow. Private family inurnment at the Eaton Cemetery.
