Byron Lee Mayers, 75, of Greeley, passed away in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to Herbert B Mayers and Kay (Harshbarger) on October 9, 1943 in Champagne, Illinois.
Byron moved a lot during his childhood before settling in California in 1963. Due to his father’s duties in the military, he lived in Illinois, Arizona, and California. In 1963, when President Kennedy was shot and killed, he felt an obligation to join the military and became a proud member of the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
Byron loved playing games on his computer, especially Mahjong. He liked collecting coins and playing Texas Hold’em whenever he got a chance. But above all, he loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Byron is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Helen; children, Jeffrey (Pamela) Mayers and Tyler D. Mayers; two grandchildren, Emma Lynn Mayers and Braxton Lee Mayers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings.
