Obituary

Beatrice passed away May 22nd from acute respiratory failure. She suffered with severe arthritis which made it difficult
for her to get around.
Beatrice was an avid reader. If she was unable to sleep it was nothing for her to read a book in one night. She also was a crossword enthusiast, love putting together jigsaw puzzles with family and friends and was a stellar cook. She loved to teach her children and grandchildren to cook and bake. Baking for the grandchildren was a treat with all the fancy cookie cutters and most times the cookies were more sprinkles than cookies. Tamale making was a kitchen full of 6 to 8 people and everyone was assigned a task. When all was said and done 50 to 60 dozen were made and shared with the family. Most people don't like fruitcake, but they loved hers. I wonder if it was the homemade balloon wine that she added to the batter.
She married Natividad Lucero on July 29,1953 and they had 5 children. They were married just shy of 50 years.
Beatrice was the matriarch of the family. Raising 5 children was no easy task because there were additional nieces and nephews, cousins or friends of the children that lived near by. She definitely spoiled the nieces, nephews and cousins. Rides in the back of her pick up truck were always a treat. She would drive on the country roads out on the farm and taught everyone to enjoy nature with the exception of snakes.
Taking walks was also a treat and finding asparagus was a bonus. Planting a large garden was one of her passions. The bounty of the produce was enjoyed and shared with many.
She helped work on the farm and out in the fields, Stake Master, and was housekeeper and caregiver for several families.
She is preceded in death by her husband Natividad "Ned-Steve" and son, Richard.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Brown of Ft. Collins, Brenda Holland of Windsor, Glenda Skogg and husband Steve Wiley of Albuquerque; son, Steve Lucero of Lakewood; grandchildren, Scott Brown of Ft. Collins, Jeramie Skogg of Lakewood; step-grandchildren, Caila Hutchinson of Eaton,Shawn Wiley of Pierce, and great grandchildren, Makaya,Jaceson, Angel, Ryleigh, Kenna, Julia and Jordan.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 1st at 10:30 a.m. Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor, 1020 Main St.

Mom your Celebration of Life Service was very nice. Of course there were tears, but also laughter. So many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends came. Greg and Sofia came from New Mexico, the Chavez cousins from Cheyenne, the Briggsdale cousins, Georgene, Rhonda, Bernie Jr. , and your Michael, Polo and Yadi, Uncle Fedrico made it. We had an opportunity for people so share memories and it was wonderful. Even Gary came and shared how you spoiled Aspen and Corey. It was a lovely service all the way around. We went out with with Take a Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin. People sang along and remembered you so lovingly.

Grandma Bea, This was very hard for me, I love you so much! It was routine for me, every Friday we would go to see you; make breakfast, clean house, and then go to the store. I will now always cherish these Friday memories. I was always allowed to do what I wanted. I would have the greatest time washing my barbies hair, then we would give them a haircut. To making cookies!!! The best part was the sprinkles, I would load them on, Grandma always stocked her house with every sprinkle I could imagine. I would sing and dance my heart out in the living room, I would put on a show for her, even though I might of made the dogs howl with my voice, you would still sit and watch, always with a smile on your face! I have learned so much from you, cooking was a big thing!!! Will miss the assembly line we had to make salsa. I am gonna miss that smile, your laugh, and that kind heart of yours! Words cannot express how sad I am, but I know I gained the greatest angel anyone could ask for! I love you! 💗 Makayla

I know Mom that you said you didn't want a funeral service. So we are going to honor you with a Celebration of Life. So many people loved you and they need to have closure. I know that you will eventually show me a sign like someone giving me a good smack and no one will be there that I went against your wishes. But like you used to say "Tough Rockos Get over it" There were so many things we wanted to say in your obituary that didn't get said. I just wanted you to know how much I already miss you and love you even though you were stubborn to a fault, and at time nothing any of us kids kids did pleased you. I have so many of your traits like the stubbornness. I know that is the Aguirre side coming out. I gave your clothes to some friends and their family that could use them. You always taught us to share with others and to lend a helping hand when we could. I will try my best to help Jeramie to make it through this difficult time. He is taking your passing very hard. It has been a trip down memory lane going through your things. I think I found a beautiful picture of your for the obituary but that wasn't easy. I know how you hated to have your picture taken. I remember you taking magic markers and coloring in your picture so you looked like a tree. I know that you are no longer suffering and hope you have be reunited with the loved ones that have gone before you. I hope you have peace. I also know that you will being sending us signs, angels, eagles and blue jays to let us know you are still caring for us. I miss you and love you always, Your daughter Brenda (little Hitler)

I am so blessed to be one of the many kids that she drove around in the back of the pickup. Those were some of the best memories of my childhood. We had such a great time! I also looked forward to getting one of her fabulous fruit cakes for my birthday each year. I will always cherish the memories of her bringing out the wooden clothespins and her and Wesley would make fences and corals so Wesley could play with the horses. So happy she was a big part of my childhood memories. I have much love for her. Laura Guzman
