Laurine Schiferl, 94, of Greeley, formerly of Stratton, passed away on January 22, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado. She was born to Alvin and Mary (Himmelberg) Kitten on April 9, 1924 in Lawrence, Nebraska.
She came to Stratton at the age of five where she grew up and attended school and graduated from Stratton High School.
On October 19, 1948, she married Ray Schiferl at Saint Charles Catholic Church in Stratton.
She was a member of the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley, and a former member of Saint Charles Catholic Church in Stratton where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Jim) Hubbard of Greeley; sons, Doyle (Mary) Schiferl of Greeley and Delmer (Cathy) Schiferl of Carrollton, Texas.
She was also survived by her grandchildren, Darrell (Kris) Hubbard of Tucson, Arizona; Diana (Sean) Thomas of Commerce City; Haley (David) Rollins of Alamosa; Zach (Michelle) Schiferl of Greeley; and Nathan Schiferl of Carrollton, Texas. Great grandchildren, Abigail and Madelyn Hubbard both of Tucson, AZ; Ashton Schiferl of Greeley; Luke, Hannah, Levi and Embrie Rollins of Alamosa; and Skyray Schiferl of Greeley.
Step great grandchildren, Brandon Hackmey and Faith Moore of Greeley.
Also survived by her sisters, Lavera Strecker of Spearville, KS, and Iona Gerhart of Kewanee, IL; sisters-in-law, Virginia Kitten of Canon City and Nora Lee Schiferl of Milliken.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Schiferl; her son, Lester; brothers, Vincent and Harold Kitten; and her parents.
The family thanks and appreciates each and every person for their care and support that was received from Grace Pointe and Front Range Hospice & Palliative Care.
Life Celebration Mass will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 9, 2019 followed by a reception, both will be at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue in Greeley.
Final resting place will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Stratton, CO at a later date.
