Bryan Kassahn, 63, passed away on January 2, 2019.

Bryan was born June 7, 1955 to Jack and Caryle (Koester) Kassahn. He grew up on the western slope and graduated from Greeley West High School. Bryan served 29 years in the US Army. After discharge, he worked in Civilian Construction.
As Sargent in the Engineering Corps, he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. After returning from Iraq, he worked for CDOT, and then went in the civilian sector as a Regional Safety Manager for industrial construction companies, refurbishing power plants and building solar fields. He loved operating equipment, but his true passion was ensuring the safety of the crew.

Bryan was an active member, and board member of the American Legion, Post 109 in Windsor.
Bryan is survived by his wife, DeAnnaKay, stepson Jordan; parents, Jack and Caryle Kassahn; brother, Mark; sisters, Renata and Lisa; nephews, Jason and Chris; daughter, Bettina; grandchild, Adrianne; and two great-grandchildren.

To the Kassahn Family, Bryan was an amazing man, and I was so proud to be able to serve with him in the 244th ECB(H) from 2001-2004. He was a great mentor and cared for nothing more than his troops, employees and their well-being. I cannot say enough great things about him and his spirit! He will be greatly missed and you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Shannon Lorimer

I was a soldier who served under Sgt Kassahn from back in early 2000s. He was a man I enjoyed serving under and learned a great deal from. He was a good friend and I was very sad and surprised to hear of his passing. He was passionate about our work and always passionate about safety. I’m sorry for your loss. I will always have great memories of Sgt Kassahn. He will be missed. Sgt Kray
