Pastor Brian Severin, 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and pastor passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
Brian was born June 7, 1952 to Ralph and Marjorie (Goodman) Severin. He grew up in Akron, CO and graduated from University of Northern Colorado. Brian also attended Rhema Bible Training Center. On September 30th, 1980, after attending Joslyn’s Bible study, he committed his life to Jesus. On February 15, 1981, in Akron, Brian married Joslyn Hedges.
Brian pastored for 34 years, starting at New Life Fellowship in Yuma County, CO, then Church Alive! in Sterling, CO, and was currently the senior pastor of Victory Christian Fellowship in Greeley. He loved to preach, teach and worship the Lord by singing and playing keyboard. Brian loved all people and always had a smile on his face. He loved ice cream; Rocky Road was his favorite. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed grilling hamburgers and steaks for his family. He was a wonderful grandfather, constantly making his grandkids giggle. Brian was a true “Soul Winner for Jesus!”
Brian is survived by his wife, Joslyn of Greeley; children, Elizabeth (Michael) Virgil of Normal, IL, Jessica Severin of Seattle, WA, Daniel (Jessie) Severin of Covington, WA, Charmaine (Will) Harvey of Colorado Springs, CO, and Abi Severin of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jeremiah Virgil, Hannah Virgil, Mariah Virgil, Adalyn Severin, and Cayden Severin; sister, Lynnda Easter of Greeley; brother, J.B. Severin of Los Angeles, CA; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and lots of spiritual children.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Adamson. A Life Celebration Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Victory Christian Fellowship, 6101 W. 10th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
