Kenneth Arthur “Kenny” Nuanez, 53, of Greeley passed away at his home on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born in Greeley to Louis Wallace and Josephine (Leal) Nuanez.
Kenny began DJ’ing events at the age of 14. He graduated from Greeley Central in 1982 and worked at KFKA and KGRE radio stations. He also worked as a salesman for RJ Reynolds and later Kellogg’s. Music was a big part of Kenny’s life, DJ’ing for parties, fundraisers and events throughout the area. He was an entrepreneur, always trying to brand and set himself apart.
Kenny loved time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and was anticipating the arrival of his fourth grandchild. He also loved mafia movies, Dallas Cowboys and was involved in the San Antonio music awards and Tejano music industry.
Survivors include his children, Erik Sandoval, Cruz, David and Nestia Nuanez; three grandchildren, Rayden, Ayva and Emilio Nuanez; mother, Josephine Nuanez; siblings, Stella Martinez, Robert and James Nuanez and Shirley Moreno as well as nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Malisa Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Richard and Louis, Jr.
Visitation 4-6 p.m. and Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at Adamson. Prayer service 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 9 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Cremation to follow. A reception will be held at 2 p.m. at Greeley Vineyard Church & Events Center, 1015 9th Avenue.
