Richard Wayne Jensen was born May 30, 1930 in Milliken, CO to Albert R. and Edna E. (Harrington) Jensen. He passed away at his home on January 28, 2018.
He attended schools in Mead, Sterling, and Nunn, CO and graduated from high school in 1949. At age 9, he suffered a badly burned leg in a gasoline fire which took many inches of skin from him and his father to graft.
After moving to Nunn at age 12, he worked on a farm until graduation. He then worked for a construction company which took him to Castle Rock when I-25 was being built. It was there he met his wife of 65 years, Marilyn J. Goehry. They were married on February 12, 1952. He then spent 31 years working with CDOT.
He is survived by his wife, three sons - Rick (Barb) of Mead, Terry (Cynthia) of Fort Collins, and Randy (Tricia) of Pine; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law, and one granddaughter.
