Elizabeth C. Gettman, 94, of Greeley, CO passed away January 12, 2018 at Kenton Manor. She was born July 13, 1923 in rural Weld County to Edgar and Carrie (Johnson) Shearer. She married Robert Gettman on July 3, 1939, he passed away May 12, 2011 and they had three children.
She was head cook at the University of Northern Colorado in McGowan and Harrison Halls. She especially liked taking care of the handicapped students that came through the food line. She also fed the Denver Broncos during their training camp at UNC. Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, loved her hats and liked sharing her gum and candy at Kenton Manor. She looked forward to trips to the Paragon Restaurant to eat.
Elizabeth was a member of the Greeley Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her son, Sam (Beverly) Gettman of Prescott, AZ; daughter, Marlene (Tom) Haberman of Greeley; grandchildren, Lee Reichert, Brian Fox and Reane (Bryan) Olson, Rikki Rae Gettman, Justin (Rhonda) Gettman and Austin Gettman, Matt (Shannon) Haberman and Mike Haberman, nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Annette Marie Fox January 1, 2015; ten brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. and Life Celebration Service 1 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, both at Adamson.
