Adeline Edith Joern was born March 16, 1942 in Bottineau, North Dakota, to Frank Martin Joern and Mary Aletha Hall as one of five children.
She was baptized into the name of the Triune God on May 5, 1942 at St. John Lutheran Church in Upham, ND and she became a child of the King of Kings, with whom she walked for the 75 years of earthly life allotted to her.
As a young woman Adeline made a public confession of her Lord Jesus at her confirmation on June 5, 1955 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lakota, North Dakota.
Adeline was joined in marriage to William (Bill) George Kutz on March 24, 1962 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND. The Lord blessed their marriage with three daughters: Karen, Karla, and Kari. They were married for 32½ years until Bill was called into eternal paradise on January 29, 1995.
On May 6, 2000 Adeline was joined together with Gordon Melvin Rupple as husband and wife at Mt. Calvary Lutheran in Ft. Lupton, CO.
Adeline filled a number of different jobs including working as a server at the Golden Hour Bakery in Grand Forks, ND and as receptionist for Brown Insurance in Washburn, ND. She then worked as Office Manager with her husband Bill in the construction industry. In the later part of her working life, Adeline was a waitress at the Longhorn Restaurant in Hudson, CO and as a teller for Colorado East Bank in both their Keenesburg and LaSalle locations.
Adeline enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, and had been to all 50 states. Her favorite hobby was Artex painting and she was known for her painted dish towels. She enjoyed playing cards, eating out, and listening to Country Western music. Additionally, she was a great baker and won Grand Champion for her apple pie at Keenesburg Days. As a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Adeline cherished spending time with family.
Adeline was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karla.
She is survived by her husband Gordon of Greeley, CO; her children, Karen Kassian of Keenesburg, CO and Kari Elizalde (Gene) of Thornton, CO; sister Beatrice Schulz of Michigan, ND; grandson Jonathan Kassian of Keenesburg, CO; three step-children, eight step-grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren, two nephews and ten nieces.
After struggling with numerous health issues Adeline lived at Brookdale care center in Brighton, CO for 2 years. On November 28, 2017 her Lord Jesus held out His hand and called her to enter into eternal paradise. Adeline now rests in the everlasting arms of Jesus where she awaits the final resurrection to our heavenly home on the day of Christ’s promised return.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7:0 0p.m. with Evening Prayer Service at 7:00 on Thursday December 7, 2017 at Adamson chapel in Greeley, CO Funeral Service 2:00p.m. on Friday December 8, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 650 S. Park Ave., Ft. Lupton, CO.
Interment will take place in Hillsboro, ND.
