Obituary for Dorothy Ann Blehm
Dorothy A. Blehm of Evans, CO passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Dorothy lived a full and happy life. She was born November 7, 1938 in Greeley to Christian and Fay (Briggs) Henneck of Ault, CO and was the oldest of eight kids. She was very close to her siblings; Vicky, Barbara, Nancy Jo, Robert, Ron, Gail, & Donna. On October 19, 1957, she married Edward Blehm of Johnstown, CO. She was retired from 1st National Bank where she had many friends and a passion for what she did.
Dorothy was full of love and compassion. She was so caring and saw the good in everyone she met. Dorothy had a positive outlook on life that was contagious and her laugh and smile were infectious. She loved many activities; knitting, crafts, reading, collecting Fenton glass, gambling, bingo, cooking, wide varieties of music, crosswords and embellishing, but most enjoyed “family” time. She loved spending time on Facebook with her “pets”, watching live feeds of fainting goats and most recently, April the giraffe. She also loved the Denver Nuggets and watched them every chance she got.
She was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters and was active in a bowling league in her early years.
Dorothy is survived by her kids, Kim (Krys) Kingston of Littleton, Shane (Julie) Blehm of Greeley, sisters; Gail (Mike) of Greeley, Barb (Jimmy) of LaSalle, and Vicky (Don) of Greeley; brother, Ron (Karen) of Casper, WY; grandkids, Shawn (Shannon), Sherridan, Reba, Miles, Vaughan, Daylen, Kagney, Annie, Kache, Owen, and Will as well as two great-grandkids; Shai and Quinntyn.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Fay; her husband Eddie; and sisters, Nancy Jo and Donna; and brother, Robert.
Family and friends are invited to participate in Dorothy’s Life Celebration at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Adamson Life Celebration Home with reception to follow. Private inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may make contributions to the family to be used for a memorial at Barnyard Buddies in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
