Condolence: Dear Heidi, Marty and family,
I just received notification of your mom's passing, from my mom and sister in law. I am so sorry to hear that she passed away. I wanted to tell you how much I thought of her. She was a very special woman, friend, mother, and the absolute best daycare provider. I don't think I ever had the opportunity to tell you both that I met your mother when I first moved to Greeley as a nineteen year old. You see I met her at your grandmother's bookstore, where I purchased my textbooks for college. We remained friends after I got my cosmetologist license and shortly thereafter I began to cut her hair and both of yours. After I had my two daughters, she was the example I followed, to open a home daycare. She visited with me on numerous occasions and helped me setup my new business. I will always be grateful for her loving guidance and support. I know for sure that GOD put us in each others lives to support and encourage one another. Please know that she was inspirational in my life and I thank GOD for her. Best wishes to you both and May GOD fill you both with the peace that passes all understanding during this sad time. Blessings, Susan Longwell-Gietzen

Condolence: To Heidi, Marty, Marge, Linde and everyone else who held Karen so close, I send you my love. I would have loved to come to the memorial for Karen. But I think Karen would have forgiven a fellow busy single mom who rarely reads the paper. Even though Karen went through so much she always had a smile and a quick, bright response to any conversation. I remember going to her house and seeing all the costumes and the craft supplies for her daycare kids - what lucky children! I am saddened that I will not have the opportunity to see that twinkling smile. She is greatly missed.

Condolence: Thank you Heidi and Marty for sharing your mother with all of us. I can't think of anyone more loved than Karen was. Her gentle spirit and kindness live on in all of her "kids" and their families. My love and prayers are with you both.

Condolence: To the Family of Karen - I am so saddened to see the passing of Karen! I was so fortunate to have her provide daycare for my son, Nick! I have so many wonderful memories of Karen. Nick was only 1 1/2 years old when he first starting going to Karen's and he went there until he was in 1st grade! Karen never really wanted to take kids less than two, but after much pleading from me (LOL) she finally agreed to take him. I still from this day credit Karen for all the good manners she instilled in Nick and have told many stories to others about the great day care provider I had! Which, she was more than just a day care provider to us! We were blessed to have Karen in our lives for those few years! I remember walking up to her house on Halloween and all of a sudden music would be playing and this colorful hand would be coming out the door!! And I remember what a special treat the plays were in her basement. Nick was the King, proudly wearing his Burger King crown! The memories go on!
I am so sorry for your loss, words can't express it enough! I hope all your wonderful memories will help bring you comfort during this difficult time!! You all are in my thoughts and prayers! God Bless!
